Mmm. I wonder. Call it conjecture on my part, but what happens to a body when you stab out it's heart?

[ This world... but those are some broad assumptions on his part. About more than one thing. ]

[ Action ]

[ But as for the main part of what Masaomi Kida is doing today, he's hanging out by the fountain, standing on the edge of it with arms wide. Weakness. Weakness is what might destroy them, huh? He wonders if that's individual, or if that's the weakness of a people. He wonders what weakness actually means. Despite this, he's not with Linda for once, and there's a smile on his face. It doesn't meet his eyes, but he's hawking around for anyone in the square, particularly people he knows. And he's holding in his hands two... playing cards?

And when he spies someone, he'll have to bound up to them and ask: ]

Hello! Hello~! Let's play a little game, huuuh?

[ Because he's older now. Because it's the end, and because what else is there left for him to loose. He'll play a game which has him terrified. ]

Even if it did not need its heart, it is possible the creature would still be affected by having it taken. Even a creature with no need for a heart may still feel pain, be it physical or emotional.

[And there's definitely something to be said about the difference between taking a heart and stabbing one out. The latter implies some intent to cause pain.]

If I am not mistaken, humans are also prone to feeling emotional pain when they lose something they cherish, regardless of whether they need it or not.

[Heart-heart...]

Most humans are not the sort of creatures who would survive losing their heart, so I believe they would fall under the category of needing it.

[Thankfully, she's heard it used as a metaphor enough that she can follow what he means.]

Hm. I was only referring to the physical heart. But I don't think a human would die if you were to remove the "heart" that makes up their emotions. They would be changed, perhaps even to the point of being unrecognizable, but they would still be alive nonetheless.

[It's something she's seen first hand, after all.]

You are the one who mentioned a human's "emotional core".

I've heard many people here use the term "heart" for what I would typically describe as a "soul", which is certainly a part of what defines a human's emotions.

What did you mean, then?
illusional: (What does that even mean...?)

[Ah. That surprises her a bit. There aren't many people who call her that, as far as she can recall.]

Yes, I am. [Alas, no matter how hard she stares at the book, she can't tell who it is on the other side.] My apologies, I'm not very good at remembering people based on voice alone. Have we met before?
