[Action]

[So Masaomi Kida has a plan today. Namely, he's out to kidnap (for her own good) Katara. There's a few times he could do this. He considers going for her before school... but he's not a morning person and neither is she. After school feels like too little time, so he's opted to pull her aside towards the end of lunch (to hopefully evade Sokka), saying that he has forgotten something (which'll later evolve into "show you something" among other excuses). Well, him and Linda (because he's taken to bringing the pichu along to school, lately) And from there... the adventure begins.

Hours of inane things ensue, not to mention a handful of not-quite arguments about how late it is getting. Feel free to run into them more or less anywhere: item shop, Azzip pizza, various floors of various community buildings,Rec Center, south side of town, north side of town, generally more or less anywhere. Chances are you won't even need to be the first to speak, because you run a good chance of running into them talking! This'll be any time between lunch break at school and oh, early evening

[Just as the two of you are coming out of a shop in the plaza, Sokka is leaving the smithy. AND HE ZEROES IN ON BOTH OF YOU. (It's a joke because Masaomi's mun is named Charles.)

So, while they're having a GRAND OLD TIME, he's going to follow behind them. To catch up.]

[Masaomi has not taken notice just yet. It'll be coming very soon, but right now he's smiling, laughing... and holding a baseball which he's tossing in his hands.]

It's a shame there's still no pokeball, buuuut, I bet if I were to paint this I could practice some.

[He also has an eyepatch in his pocket. Don't ask]

Why would you need to paint it?

Yes, Masaomi. Do tell.

[WHAT ARE YOU TWO UP TO.]

[WHAT.

He actually turns and throws the baseball at Sokka (aiming for the chest or head) on total reflex because that surprised him]

[Katara whirls around, following Masaomi's movement and - Ack!]

Duck!

[Yeah too late, Sokka gets clobbered in the forehead and goes down.

SEE, KATARA. SEE. MASAOMI IS A MONSTER.

And Sokka's head hurts really bad. That's gonna leave a serious lump.]

[Oh, shit.

That could have cracked his skull if he hit it in the right spot, right? Masaomi is frozen for all of about a second and then-]

[but after that brief pause he's going to break the distance in no time flat to crouch over Sokka, concerned, wide-eyed. Katara no doubt can do more, but he can do a quick check- it doesn't look that bad externally..

the Pichu by his feet doesn't get what is going on but she looks ready to fight because that was totally a fight right]

Sokka!

[Oh, this is like - nightmare material for her. Katara started running as soon as he went down, streaming water from her waterskin as she goes. She knees beside him quickly, putting her water-coated hand on his head.

Please be all right.]

[Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately) it didn't knock him out. That was the benefit of living in a world of Earthbenders requires humanity to be durable enough to get hit in the head by twelve year old girls who thinks it's hilarious to clobber their friends. People were durable! (It's like they were cartoons or something.)

Which means Sokka has a huge mark on his head and is glaring at Masaomi like he could murder him at any moment. In fact even as he's trying to prop himself up onto his elbows, he's already inching his hand towards his nearest weapon - a hunting knife.]

What the- ow! [Her hand reaches his head, largely because he's still moving while she's trying to help.] What's wrong with you!?

[and Masaomi immediately pulls into a demon bow. As he's already crouching, it ends up as a full on on the ground his head hitting the dirt affair. There is not irony in his voice but rather sincerity as he says-]

I'm deeply sorry!

Stop moving! [Katara is still entirely focused on her brother, moving to support his back with one hand and touch his forehead with the other. This will also effectively stop him from getting up, but really she's focused on the damage and only vaguely noting Masaomi's (to her mind) entirely appropriate response.]

Just hold still!

[The apology is barely even heard between everything going on, but he at least lies his head back. The sooner he can kill Masaomi, the better.]

[Left with nothing but to stay in that position, he just... well, does. Rambling excuses (including the obvious: you snuck up on me) would be entirely shameful right now and not in the way he usually shames himself. So. Still there]

[Right, so this will be a few minutes, but when she's done, the lump is gone, the swelling completely decreased, and there shouldn't be more than a vague headache about the eyes.

Katara's shoulders slump with relief as her adrenaline finally starts to die down.]

You're going to be all right.

[She leans her hand back, still supporting him with her other hand and half her shoulder.]

[His hand slips up to his forehead, where the impact was. He can still feel it, but that's probably some sort of phantom pain or something. His head still hurts, but he can think straight. Mostly. Sort of. His mind is kind of clouded by being pissed.

Which is why Katara won't have to support him long as he starts to scramble back to his feet.]

What the hell, Masaomi!?

[He's still in the deep bow position. Oh, is this where he explains...?]

You took my by surprise, that was reflex.

[He doesn't even get his head up for that though]

[Katara also stands, a little behind Sokka, and moves more to his side. She's still a bit pale from her scare, and her eyes are filled with concern and a sort of dread anticipation of this conflict. But for now, she's silent.]

Reflex? That was reflex? Do you just clobber anyone behind you!?

[Sure. Sokka knows those kind of reflexes. But a real warrior is in control of his every move.]

[No. Normally he's very self-aware. normally he borders on paranoid. But. he was relaxed right there, which doesn't couple well with his not great control. He doesn't get up from his bow though. He has no real answer to that one.

Linda, meanwhile, is getting more confused. Is Sokka is an enemy? He might be. She actually goes to poke Masaomi's arm to try to get an answer. Can she shock people?]

Sokka...

[Tentative shoulder touch.

She's not really sure how much she should intervene, and she's... kind of upset about this whole thing too, but she can tell that Masaomi is completely sincere.]

It was an accident.

Some accident. [He turns back to Katara.] Does he have these a lot? [Has he ever hurt you like that?]

[Yeah still in the bow. And then Masaomi hears Linda's cheeks sparking, He breaks the bow just a bit to thwack her on the head. She pouts at him. But-!]

No. [She drops her hand from his shoulder.]

He doesn't.

[And she even believes that. After all, when she's seen Masaomi lose control before, it had been in a battle. And he'd stopped in that fight with Shikamaru, just as he'd - eventually - stopped in that fight with her.]
