In my experience, the world can be pretty negative. [Just watch a newscast, really, or read the paper. She shouldn't need to explain more than that.] But it has a few good points, too.

In my experience, the world's actually pretty awful. [ All his time here ] I agree. Though that said, the world's also what one can make of it, so maybe I just prefer to know that love is a leveler and the world can be brought down to that level.

Strikes me more as a state of being than advice, honestly. So in that respect, yes.
