Specifically, he is standing on the ceiling of the grocery store and has his journal propped up on one of the shelves to record him being on the ceiling. He's doing this to be swagilicious, and you are free to walk in on him or see the video, but he begins with a laugh and a nod]

Greetings, greeting Luceti! I know, I was thinking I'd roll with the mood of love we've had for a while now and set up some dates, but I didn't find any chocolates in the grocery. I took this as a sign that the time for steamy romance might not be just now, and I've decided to request of you something I don't usually do! [He spreads his arms wide and begins to pace... on the ceiling. He's really straining his chakra control here and anyone who knows the look for the signs will notice that despite trying to look flippant, he is concentrating quite a bit.] Namely, does anyone wish to try one of those fabled spars with me and my partner? I promise, it won't be something you regret! [And with a wink, and releases himself from the ceiling. He flips himself in the air as he falls and lands on his feet. He groans when he does because that impact was harder than he thought it would be, but he switches the journal off afterwards.

Mm, is that so? [A slight pause as he remembers something.] And that trick you were doing with standing on the ceiling of the grocery earlier? Is that a "talent you've had all your life" too, or something new you've picked up?

Oh, no sir. I worked my butt off for that one. Been training with a ninja for months and everything.

I see... [He nods] Well, I think your hard work certainly shows, since it was a remarkable technique with a unique taste--after all, I can't say I know very many Pokemon Trainers in Unova that have trained themselves to perform such feats.

[Brycen is maybe the closest he could think of as an example, but he's more of a martial artist, not a ninja.]

Ho ho, short on ninja in Unova? Not that it really matters if a human can or not. All they need's an Ariados partner and they'd be set, hm?

Ah, that's true--in fact, I'm sure there could be a few ninjas that have them as their partners in other regions. [Like Koga and his daughter Janine, for example.] It's a bit of a shame that Ariados have a rare taste and are almost impossible to find in Unova, though. They're more commonly found in places like the Johto region, where as in Unova you'd be more likely to find a Galvantula instead.

Galvantula, huh? [And he reaches into his pocket... to pull out his pokedex. He types in how you figure you spell that- ... no data. He then goes to search bug types, flip through it manually, but he can't seem to find it...]

[Oh, a pokedex! Except...] ...Hm. Your pokedex appears to be out of date, so it might not be able to show it until you have the chance to get it upgraded. [But what's the likelihood of that happening...]

A bit of an unfortunate taste, I suppose. Otherwise, it would likely tell you that Galvantula is a bug and electric type Pokemon, and the evolved form of Joltiks. Also, they are currently exclusively found in the Unova region, at least since I last heard about them.

Acha yeah, if I remember right, it's only Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn on this thing. [Itching the back of his head. Sheepishly.

Ah, so it's missing information on Pokemon from Sinnoh and Unova. But I suppose that's not too uncommon, since those other regions seem to be a little more well-known in comparison. Where did you get it, if you don't mind my asking?

A birthday present from my comrade, Gold. You might have met him by now?

[he nods] Yes, I've met him! I haven't had the chance to really speak to him as much as when I first arrived here, but he seems like an interesting trainer.

[~~We'll have to remember to pencil him in as someone to taste the skills of at some point too.~~]

Gold is a man who relies almost entirely on luck but is able to consistently win despite that because he's simply that blessed. [A hum] It's not to belittle his talent, of course, because that's a factor too, but in terms of "strategy" it's a gamble for him.

[The way Masaomi talks about it he's both perplexed and in awe for that. He couldn't function that way, and has a hard time understanding it. But the fact Gold can do it deeply impresses him]

Is that so? [For some reason, Cilan seems kind of amused by that. Maybe it's Gold's traits as a "shounen protagonist" or something that make him lucky like that.] Well, based on that description and what I've been able to gather so far from interacting with him, Gold seems to have a similar taste to a friend of mine that I had back in Unova: even when he was at a disadvantage, somehow he always seems to be able to try turning things around in his favor.

Similar, but subtly different, I'd say. Gold's not one to have been at a disadvantage, all things considered.

Really? My, then he must be very lucky indeed. [Though his tone suggests he doesn't...quite believe that?]

As a matter of fact, I do have flavors that I consider to be my favorite.

Mind telling me what sort of flavors those are?

Hm...I could just tell you now, but I'm sure you'll find out for yourself what they are soon enough.

[If we're gonna be battling soon, then it's often a little more exciting to have an element of surprise!]

Hmmmm, so you make use of your best tastes? Seems like a messy timing. [And he laughs here, clicking his tongue twice before here they are! The Dome! ...He needs to go to one of the condoles though to set it up]

Well--[He's about to say something about your statement there, but then he's distracted by their arrival here.] Ah, so this is the Battle Dome...it does seem very impressive so far...

[But of course we'll have to wait to see what the battlefield itself actually looks like...but in the meantime that doesn't really stop him from "oohing and aahing" at things while you're setting it up. ^^;;]

Just you wait! This is only the exterior - and there's even a room free now? Lucky!

Oh? I take it the Battle Dome is even more popular than I expected... [Though it makes sense--even if there weren't too many Pokemon Trainers here, there did seem to be a lot of other styles of fighters in Luceti. He might be leaning over Masaomi's shoulder now to take a look at the console he's typing things into. Maybe they were like the computers at the Battle Clubs they had in Unova...] So what kind of settings are you programming into it?
